Carob syrup is made from the fruits (beans) of the carob tree and has a mild, sweet taste. It is an excellent substitute for sugar, as it tastes like chocolate and cocoa and tastes sweet, it can be used as a substitute in various recipes. In ancient times, the weight of carob beans was defined as the unit of measurement for gemstones and gold. From the word (keration) the fruit of the carob tree comes the word carat (1 metric carat = 200 mg). The nutritional value of carob beans is mainly rich in carbohydrates (glucose and sucrose), so it can provide us with instant energy.
