Description
Whole capers, slices of the finest Kalamata olives and extra virgin olive oil are added to the crushed tomatoes, which has been grown in the Karditsa region since the early 1900s. This local variety was chosen for its original, old-fashioned and sweet tomato flavour. In August, the ripe tomatoes are picked by hand and then delicately pressed and sieved without being cooked. This allows them to retain their flavours and vibrant colours. This is probably the most delicious, fresh-smelling tomato sauce you have ever tasted.
Excellent as a base for sauces, stews, pasta or even on toasted bread for a bruschetta style appetiser. No preservatives, additives or colourings.
