Ethiopia is the country of origin of coffee. Here, on the eastern horn of Africa, everything took its course, because the African country is considered the cradle of the coffee plant. From the southern region of Sidamo originate the most famous and best varieties of the country. In Ethiopia one suspects about 5,000 varieties – no other growing area can come up with such a variety.
Coffee and its enjoyment are an important part of Ethiopia’s culture and daily routine. Hardly any other country appreciates the bean so much that it even has dedicated its own coffee ceremony. Who is invited to such, this may be a special sign of friendship, appreciation and hospitality. It is celebrated at any time of the day and sometimes takes several hours. Even the scent makes you want more: The Suke Quto smells malty-fresh, makes a summery-light impression like jasmine flowers. Appearances of cassis and a hint of chocolate play on the nose and the palate.
A very complex coffee, whose citrus-fruity aromas can fully develop in the mouth and bring hints of jasmine, embedded in pleasant milk chocolate flavor. An elegant but distinct acidity and a soft, elegant body complete the enjoyment of these primal beans in every form.
