The beauty and sublime scent of the rose has been appreciated and loved by many different cultures around the world. The ancient Greeks and Romans believed that it was the sacred flower of the goddess of love and beauty, Aphrodite. Rosa Damascena, a variety of rose contained in this product, was grown in Damascus and is known as Damascus rose or Castilian rose.
Cooking
Rose petals can be used to add great flavor to various teas and infusions. It can also be used as a sweetener instead of sugar/honey or to prepare a very unique infusion that can be enjoyed either hot or cold. Furthermore Rose petals can be used to make liqueurs or desserts or to flavour various sauces, stewed meats, vegetables and soups. One should be carful with it and only use a small amount so that the prepared dishes aren’t ending up too sweet.
