Description

This fantastic tomato sauce is made from heirloom tomatoes, which have been cultivated in the region of Karditsa since the early 1900s. This local variety was chosen for its original, old-fashioned and sweet tomato flavour. In August, the ripe tomatoes are picked by hand and then delicately pressed and crushed without being cooked. This allows them to retain their flavours and vibrant colours. This is probably the most delicious, fresh-smelling tomato sauce you have ever tasted.
Excellent as a base for sauces and stews or simply on pasta. No preservatives, additives or colourings.

The organic heirloom tomatoes are grown in the small village of Elias in Greece and are produced outdoors from the best plants of the year. The taste, aromas and bright colour of heirloom tomatoes is unique. Check out our blog post with a movie about the producer. click here
