It can be used for hot and cold drinks and is an excellent substitute for sugar, as it resembles the taste of chocolate and cocoa and tastes sweet, it can be used in various recipes.
In ancient times, the weight of carob beans was defined as a unit of measurement for precious stones and gold. Using the word (keration) for the fruit of the carob tree gives the word carat (1 metric carat = 200 mg).
